Pumpkins!

Now, pumpkins are our specialty!

Long before the corn maize was even dreamed about, Hawes Farms was been growing pumpkins. We have shipped these little round orange balls all over California from Redding to San Diego, from Eureka to San Luis Obispo! Our pumpkins have even been shipped to Hawaii!

We raise over 30 varieties, always searching for the best characteristics.

We used to raise Oz's for the small kids, now we raise Mystics, with a great dark orange color, and a huge dark green, tough stem. These 6-7" pumpkins are the perfect tough pumpkin for kids. Now for my favorite last year, the Super Herc! A nice 25-50# beauty!!!!! Dark orange, nice ribs, WOW!!!! This is a great new variety if you are looking for a big one!!!!

Then there is the Howdy Duty, a nice flatter pumpkin, really unique. Or how bought the Sorcerer, a nice basketball size pumpkin. How about Cinderella's, Jarrahdale's, and Cotton Candy. All unique, all awesome!.

Each pumpkin variety has its own unique look, color, stem, and shape. We plant and mark the field separately, so have fun finding your perfect variety and pumpkin. Our pumpkins are reasonably priced, and you can either pick them right off the vine, or if you do not want to walk all over our 20 acre patch, choose one already picked in our pumpkin corral.

One other addition this year is our buckboard wagons. These little wagons will be a hit with your child. Your child sits up front on the buckboard seat, and you fill up the back with pumpkins. Great for the kids, a slight work out for the parents!!!

For an extra treat, watch for all the different items featuring Spookley, the square pumpkin. You can never tell where he might show up. It's a wonderful way for kids to learn about the farm, through the eyes of an unlikely hero, Spookley, the square pumpkin. There will be story telling and all sorts of fun activities. For 2007, the Pumpkin Patch opens October 6 thru 14, with the same hours as the maze. Check the Farm Calendar for times. From October 17 thru Halloween, the patch is open 10am till dusk.
